OSB Publishes Information to Assist Consumers

The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB) has published new information products to assist consumers in making informed decisions when seeking assistance to resolve serious financial difficulties (http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/bsf-osb.nsf/eng/br03459.html)

The information includes:

  • A new web page for consumers which provides information and answers to frequently asked questions about the role of a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) and the assistance a LIT is authorized to provide;

  • Information to help consumers differentiate a LIT from a debt consultant; and

  • Five insolvency-related videos to help consumers better understand the insolvency process and the insolvency options that are available to them.
